The opposition to the government ruling party just had announced their running mate moments ago. The united opposition coalition announced MP Faisal Naseem of the Kaashidhoo Constituency as the running mate of the joint coalition.
After countless efforts of re-thinking and struggling, the JP side of the coalition came up with MP Faisal Naseem as their leading Vice president. The voting which was commenced tonight resulted with 15 votes to Faisal Naseem while his closes competitor MP Ali Hussain received 14 votes. Ameen got 9 votes while Dr. Hussain Rasheed got 2 votes with 1 vote invalid.
After the agreement between the rest of the coalition, it was agreed on to bring forth a member from the JP faction. It was agreed upon to give the opposition president candidacy to the MDP faction and the Vice President to the JP faction.
