MVR 200 to be set as the minimum wage given

MDP has decided that employees working in Maldives should get a minimum wage of MVR 200.

According to the draft of the bill by MDP, the minimum wage will be decided correspondingly to the sectors.

Sectors and the minimum wages to be set;

Travel sector: MVR 266.27
Fishing and agriculture: MVR 266.67
Construction work: MVR 200.00
Running resorts: MVR 333.33
Other tourism sections: MVR 200.00
Health care: MVR 266.67
Education: MVR 266.67
Others: 200.00

MVR 200 as the minimum wage will apply to both temporary and permanent workers.
