Bank of Maldives Wins Club Maldives Cup For The Second Consecutive Time

After thrashing Club Wamco (WAMCO) by 6 goals to 1, United BML (Bank of Maldives) clenched the winning trophy of the biggest futsal tournament in Maldives, Club Maldives Cup for the second consecutive time.

BML won the tournament played in Hulhumale’ Futsal Ground, with many players from the successful 2016 tournament in which they won their first trophy still in the squad.

Testament to the convincing run in the tournament, BML’s Ishan Ibrahim, Ali Haafiz and Mohamed Shafeeu were among the top five players of the tournament, along with Wamco’s Ibrahim Aswad and Abdullah Shaffan.

Former TC player, BML’s Ali Haafiz was crowned the “King of Futsal”, the best player of the tournament. With the club’s coach Ismail Anil named as the best coach, BML dominated the awards as well.

The women’s division was won by Maldives Post Limited (MPL). During the match played last Thursday, after beating Police Club, MPL won the division by winning the match with a one goal lead, closing the game with a 3-4 scoreline.
