Another 200 foreigners have been repatriated back to their countries, reveals Maldives Immigration.
Maldives Immigration states that the 200 evacuated consists of 171 Indians, and 29 Europeans, and all were allowed to leave the country once the required permits were obtained.
A flight has been designated for those being repatriated with the Europeans having to transit at Srilanka before flying to Europe.
The Maldivian governments decision to close off the country’s borders have left many stranded in the country. Multiple repatriation efforts have been and are currently being made in collaboration with foreign governments.
