The government has revealed that they have spent MVR 10.1 million as income support for 2,507 individuals who had their employment affected with COVID-19.
A total of MVR 5,000 was provided for people who had lost their jobs, and for those whose income fell below MVR 5,000.
The income support is provided by the government for April, May and June. A vast number of individuals were financially impacted due to the pandemic, and the government previously announced various measures to mitigate and cushion the impact on the public.
