Air India has announced plans to restart operations to the Maldives starting from August 25.
The recommencement of operations comes after an agreement established between the nations to create an air travel bubble between the two neighboring countries which facilitates the movement of people between the two countries. The agreement was announced in a virtual conference attended by the External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid. This is the first of it’s kind in the neighborhood.
Air India revealed that the airline would operate a flight between Male’ and Trivandrum every Tuesday.
