Ministry of Tourism has granted permission to resume operations for 104 resorts since the borders were closed at the end of March due the spread of COVID-19.
The Ministry has also given permission to resume operations for three hotels; Amilla Fushi in B. Finolhas, Mercure Maldives Kooddoo in G. A. Kooddoo, and Equator Village in Gan, Addu City, all located in non-residential islands. Furthermore a total of 109 tourist vessels have been granted permission to operate including 32 guesthouses in the greater Male’ area as transit facilities.
The Maldivian tourism is slowly recovering from the downfalls caused by the pandemic.
