On his official visit to the Maldives, Indian a Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi is launch multi-million dollar development projects in the country.
According to the Indian foreign secretary, Mr Modi will announce the two projects: a coastal radar development project and the Maldives National Defence Force training centre worth upwards of $30 million.
Additional projects include the development of water and sewage system of 36 islands, development of a community development centre in Addu City and an SME financing project.
The Foreign Secretary, Mr Vijay Keshav, during a press conference held today stated that agreements would be signed between the two countries to hold training and development programs for civil servants along with the development of cricket and facilities in the country as well.
