National Pay Commission has announced the new civil servant salary structure.
In a statement signed by the chair of The National Pay Commission, Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer states that the commission had completed research on the current civil servant salary structure, and was currently working on establishing ranks and criteria for the 96 professions in civil service.
According to the statement, the ranks and criteria will be based on its research into the current salary structure, as well as international best practice and that it will be effective from 2020 onwards.
They also assured that they are working on establishing standards and policies for allowances to civil servants in order to bridge the current disparity in allowances to civil servants.
