The Finance Ministry announced the search for a party to collect and dispose of the waste in islands.
In most islands waste disposal is carried out by a party that the council assigns or by hiring foreigners. WAMCO also operates in some islands however, some waste goes by being unattended to.
According to the announcement the project is only applicable to Maldivian businesses and that the applications are now open. A non-refundable registration fee of MVR 500 will be taken and a bid security payment of MVR 500,000 will also be taken for the project.
