The state budgeted amount for Aasandha – state initiated health insurance scheme – has exceeded the fiscal year limit.
According to Ministry of Finance, in their Weekly Fiscal Development, government has spent MVR1,084.7 million on the scheme so far.
However, this exceeds the budgeted amount of MVR1,000.0 million for the year of 2019.
Moreover, the cumulative state expenditure hit MVR24,753.9 million.
As per statistics, MVR18,272.5 million has been spent on recurrent expenditure in annual terms.
In addition, the cumulative total of capital expenditure has reached MVR6,481.5 million.
Furthermore, state has spent MVR9,032.2 million in annul terms on salaries, wages and pensions of public sector staffs.
As such, this expense falls under state’s recurrent expenditure column.
Meanwhile, another MVR8,193.4 million was spent on administrative and operational expenses.
Interestingly, this falls under the recurrent expenditure column as well.
As per 28 November, state subsidies have rocketed to MVR1,169.5 million with PSIP spending at MVR3,463.9 million.
On the other hand, MVR1,782.8 million was spent on development projects and investment outlays.
