“Information about anti-vaxxers are present and children will get vaccinated although people are opposed to it”, said Health minister Abdullah Ameen.
At a press conference held today due to the disease “measles”
which went extinct, being instigated in Maldives again, health minister had spoken about how the vaccination was aimed mostly at unvaccinated people and the other group of individuals that have not had the second dosage of the vaccine.
These measures will be carried out for 3 months as decided by the ministry.
Health minister had also assessed the importance of vaccination as he urged to get the full dosage of the vaccine for those who have not had it.
Furthermore, he had called on parents to get the children the full required dosage before they get to school as he mentioned that unvaccinated children would not be able get into government schools.
The health ministry had advocated for consultation with doctors if symptoms are found.
In 2017 after it was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) that Maldives is a measles-free country, it was instigated again last year in December.
