Arrangements made to permit resort workers currently in islands to return to their respective resorts.
Tourism Ministry, this Wednesday made the announcement stating that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has given go ahead to allow workers in islands, that are not currently under monitoring or places islands that have their monitoring status revoked for more than 14 days to be allowed back to work.
The Ministry now requests all workers seeking to return to work, to register and share their information with the Ministry. All workers are to be subjected to a mandatory 13 day quarantine before being allowed to return to work.
The Maldivian government has now revealed plans to restart the now halted tourism industry, which has caused many resort workers to be furloughed. The abrupt cease in tourist arrivals, and the governments decision to close off the borders have led resorts to stop operations.
