An Iranian boat has been seized in Maldivian waters while trying to traffic a large volume of drugs reports Maldives Police Service.
The bust saw collaboration between Maldives Police and MNDF, in a joint operation carried out today.
According to Maldives Police Service, the boat which is allegedly heavily involved in the drug trade was seized 126 nautical miles south of Baa Atoll.
A total of 7 suspects have been detained from the boat which is currently under investigation.
The nationalities of those detained have not yet been disclosed.
