The visa exemption agreement between the Maldives and Russia has been finalized.
As per the agreement concluded on 25 June 2019 between the two governments, Maldivians travelling to Russia will be granted 90 days on-arrival visa without any requirements. The same will be applied for Russian citizens travelling to the Maldives.
The agreement was signed last month by Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid on behalf of the Maldivian government, and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
In addition to developing the tourism sector, the agreement will help strengthen relations between both countries and increase export f fish products to Russia.
