Abdul Maaniu Hussain appointed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
In the recent elections carried out by the Bar Council on 27th July, to select a legal representative, Maniu received a majority vote of 199 votes.
During a function held at the President’s Office on Wednesday, Maaniu took his oath of office while being administered by Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Areef.
After taking his oath, he was presented with his letter of appointment by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Maaniu had previously run for the Executive Committee of the Bar Council and lost by just one vote to former Makunudhoo MP Anaara Naeem.
