On behalf of the Maldivian Government, Foreign Minister Abdul Shaahid ensures that enhancement of the relationship between European Union and the Maldives by taking proactive measures, to the Deputy President of European Commissioner and Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security, Federica Mogherini.
While sending his greetings to the citizens on European Day, he mentioned how the government is ready to join with the Union to make the countries democracy strong, to protect and provide human rights and to reduce the negative impact of the climate changes to the nation.
Moreover, he stated that the government appreciate the relationship they have with the Union and plans to make this bond stronger in the future.
