Tourist resort occupancy in Maldives rise over 80%

The guest occupancy rate across all tourist resorts – collectively – has risen above 80%.

As per several resort and hospitality groups, their respective properties are currently experiencing the hike.

According to the General Manager of Villa Hotels Group, all of their properties observed occupancy increase.

Moreover, he notes the positive growth comes as direct result from strong tourism promotion and political stability.

In addition to this, the group’s General Manager noted most of the properties were fully booked.

Meanwhile, an official from Crown and Champa Resorts concurred on the uptick in arrivals and occupancy amid peak season.

As per recent stats, Maldives currently consists of 155 operating tourist resorts thus putting total bed capacity at 50,905 with all hospitality venues combined.

Thus, this rise in bed capacity has challenged travel agents and tour operators in selling vacant properties.

While travel agencies unanimously concur occupancy rise, they also focused on the challenges in selling properties.
