On Thursday, Health Ministry announced plans to build new hospitals in H. Dhidhdhdoo and Dh. ,Kudahuvadhoo. as part of the government’s policy to improve the quality of health services across Maldives.
There are health facilities for both Dhidhdhoo and Kudahuvadhoo which will cease services once the new hospitals are completed. Both hospitals are 55-bed facilities with 19 OPD consultation rooms, six private rooms, a three-bed ICU, two operation theaters, and eight 12-bed wards.
The hospitals will also have a spacious laboratory, x-ray room and an ultrasound scan room for diagnostic services.
Health Minister Abdulla Ameen announced capital plans for the two new hospitals in a ceremony at the Maagiri Hotel Thursday morning.
