President Yameen must also be freed when judge is suspended: MP Shiyam

Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam has said that former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom must be freed while Judge Hussain Faiz Rashad, who is on the bench at the Criminal Court, is suspended.

In a tweet, Shiyam questioned whether there was a reason why the sentence issued by the judges should not be overturned.

“President Yameen must be freed when a judge on the bench is suspended,” said Shiyam.

Shiyam also said that JSC has proved the problems of the judge.

JSC announced on Thursday night that Criminal Court Judge Hussain Faiz Rashad had been suspended over the audios of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

JSC said that the forensic analysis of the audio circulating in the media regarding the audio recordings of criminal court judges and the audio analysis of criminal court judge Hussain Faiz Rashad were specified in the audio analysis.

Jsc has decided to order Judge Hussain Faiz Rashad to stay out of work for 60 days until the commission makes a decision on the basis of maintaining confidence in the judiciary.
