The new rules and regulations about guest house safety which the government is implementing will bring positive impact on their business says the guest house association.
During an event to kickstart, the government initiated project to install safety boards and lifeguard stands on beaches to ensure the safety of tourist, the president of guest house association, Ahmed Karam stated that this project will have a positive impact of the tourism industry.
Tourism Ministry is currently carrying out safety evaluations in multiple islands to ensure the guest houses are updated on their safety procedures.
Ina addition to this project the government is finding other ways to help promote local tourist and increase job opportunities for locals in the tourism sector.
